Today marked a truly extraordinary occasion: the celebration of Guama Hun Sou Wah's 101st birthday. Family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered around to honor this remarkable individual, whose life had spanned over a century, witnessing the ebb and flow of time with grace and resilience. With each passing year, birthdays take on a deeper significance, but reaching the age of 101 is a milestone that is truly cause for celebration. It is a testament to a life well lived, filled with cherished memories, invaluable experiences, and boundless wisdom.


For in the end, it is not the years in our lives that matter but the life in our years, and this 101st birthday was a testament to a life truly lived to the fullest.

 

HUN SOU WAH 

 



Hun Sou Wah, born on December 28, 1923, in Xin Jiang Province, China. She and her husband, Li Giok, shuttled between China, Hong Kong, and the Philippines until 1957 when they obtained citizenship. Hun Sou Wah, a homemaker, cared for her businessman husband and four children. They resided in Binondo, Manila, in the Philippines. Today, she leads as the family matriarch, having taken on her husband's legacy, supported by her 4 children, 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
