A Christ-Centered Minimalist Wedding at Lakehall: Renz & Nicole’s Rain-Kissed “I Do”

Some love stories don’t start with chance encounters or dramatic first meetings, they begin with a simple swipe, a conversation, and a decision to keep choosing each other every day.

On December 12, 2025, Renz B. Leonardo and Nicole Ysabel V. Dy tied the knot in a heartfelt, Christ-centered wedding at Lakehall in Cabuyao, surrounded by 250 of their closest family and friends. Styled in a minimalist aesthetic with soft pastel tones, their wedding day proved that simplicity, faith, and sincerity can create something truly unforgettable.

Wedding Vision & Planning: Faith Over Tradition

Their wedding planning was guided by one clear vision:

a Christ-centered celebration rooted in worship, reverence, and gratitude.

They intentionally stayed away from vulgar jokes and over-the-top elements, choosing instead a ceremony that honored God through worship and reflection. Inspired by faith and led by the Holy Spirit, they planned their wedding for one year, finding joy in the process because they knew exactly what they wanted.

The biggest challenge? The guest list and table arrangements—because when love runs deep, it’s hard not to invite everyone.

The Wedding Day: Rain, Umbrellas, and God’s Perfect Timing

The morning of their wedding came with one big question: “Will the rain stop?” With an outdoor ceremony scheduled at 4 PM, the overcast skies kept everyone hoping.

And then—rain came. Light showers fell as the ceremony began, and instead of panic, umbrellas opened. What could have been a setback became one of the most beautiful parts of the day. The rain softened the moment, slowed time, and made the ceremony feel even more intimate.

Walking down the aisle and standing at the altar, both Renz and Nicole tried (and failed) not to cry. The presence of God was overwhelming, and every tear felt like worship.

Reception Highlights: Simple, Personal, and Full of Meaning

The reception at Lakehall was calm, joyful, and deeply personal. One of their favorite moments was taking photos on stage with their guests—greeting everyone face to face and creating memories

they can look back on for years.True to who they are as a couple, they kept alcohol minimal, choosing connection over excess. Everything flowed smoothly, just as planned—sometimes

the most unforgettable moments are the quiet ones that feel exactly right.

Wedding Photography Experience with Joel & Ma-anne

Renz and Nicole chose Joel H. Garcia & Ma-anne Roque of JHG Photography because they resonated with the emotion and storytelling in the photos they saw.

From video calls to their prenup shoot and the wedding day itself, the experience felt guided, calm, and secure. Their prenup shoot was especially memorable—filled with laughter, comfort, and genuine moments.

Family portraits became instant keepsakes, and every photo felt worth framing.

Personal Reflections & Marriage Advice

For Nicole, one of the most vivid memories was seeing her family’s reaction when she finally wore her wedding gown. Looking back, there’s nothing they would change—the day was perfect as it was.

If they could relive one moment, it would be the ceremony, rain and all.

Their advice to future brides and grooms? Trust the process. Take things one step at a time. And always put God first before making decisions.
