In one of our Wedding coverage Fr. Jerry Orbos, SVD said that marriages succeed because they are 70-30 partnerships. It cannot be 50-50. There will be times when either the husband or the wife has to give more than the other — patience, understanding, sacrifice. He chose a pair of wooden chopstick to symbolize a marriage. One chopstick cannot function without the other.
Look at your relationships and learn from the chopsticks. it is God who is holding both of you,so stay together. the chopsticks won't work well if held too tight or too loose,so you two must hold each other just right. there is no fixed rule as to who should be below or above, the two sticks must be equal,so you twomust try to adjust and wait for each other in all aspects. notice how one chopstick moves while the other is steady,so you 2 must learn to stay quiet when one is angry.as with the chopsticks, one is not enough to serve its purpose. you need to stay together for a purpose, for a mission.
So do not CHOP each other. STICK to one another because God has brought you two together.
