Q: Describe your wedding in a few paragraphs.
We've treated our wedding as our biggest and most important project ever. It's a very special day for us, since we've been a couple for 12 years, and getting married is a big leap for us but a logical one. We have been planning for the wedding for a long time, more than a year in fact. During this time, my fiancée and I have been pretty much hands on with details of the preparation, to the point that a lot of DIY projects have been incorporated, especially to the reception. Finally seeing all the small bits come together into one cohesive whole was a true sight to behold, and we fully blessed that we have an excellent photography team to capture every moment of this special occasion.

Q: What was it like to have JHG photography on your day?
JHG's team is very experienced in making the most of each shot. Photo concept and composition were unbelievably easy and seamless for them to come up with, and it was like being in a magazine photoshoot, the way the final shots came out during the SDE slideshow. Even the simplest poses come out spectacularly.

Q: What was the most memorable part of your photography experience with Joel & Ma-anne?
They made even the simplest setups come out beautifully. I'm a very shy person and so am not used to doing poses, but their direction style made it easy for me to "pose" and their skill in shot composition really made each shot stand out. That for me was the most surprising and memorable part of the having them as our photography team.

Q: Any advice to offer new brides and grooms to-be?
You're in good hands with Joel and Ma-anne. They really have a good eye for photography and even if you are the shy type, as we are, you can simply give them a small idea of what you want (your "peg") and they guide you as to the how you can feel comfortable with the poses.

Q: What was the weather like?
During our pre-nup it was raining but we had the luxury of shooting in a studio, so weather wasn't a problem. But they really worked out a concept that utilized all the different setups the studio had to offer to good effect.
During our wedding the weather was nice and sunny, but our wedding was late in the afternoon and we only had a small window after the ceremony before it got dark. But they were still able to create beautiful shots with what little light we had so it's a testament to their skill.

Q: What was the funniest thing that you remember happening?
The shot when I was about to walk into the church and the doors were opening, I was so shy and didn't know what to do, but then I heard the MUA's (Ms. Mayone) yell-whispering commands like " yuko ka pag bukas ng pinto" and "dahan-dahan ang lakad" was funny to hear (as I was virtually being coached through this moment), but I followed them to the letter and this contributed to the shot turning out great (although I cried a lot, Ms. Mayone also taught me how to cry during march)

Q: What characteristics of the ceremony made your event most unique to you two as a couple?
We couldn't really believe that after 12 long years of being a couple we are already getting married, and we got a shot of us showing off the rings on our fingers as proof. The night before, I setup all the DIYs, accessories in the bed and table of the bridal room for the videographer and photographer teams. I slept in the connecting room and kept the bridal room photo-ready and video-ready.
Our centerpieces for all guests’ tables except for presidential table were all DIYs. We made them minimal and the food was served lauriat-style so family and friends can enjoy the food, chats, and program. It was like a mini reunion at each table.

Q: What do you remember most about the Ceremony?
The ceremony before us ended late so we had to rush everything so we could keep on schedule. But this meant that by the time the march was going on, most of the guests haven't arrived yet, so we though it wasn't going to be a full house. But after the ceremony and we turned to face the crowd, we were shocked to see that it was nearly full. It turned out that most simply had to wait for the guests of the previous wedding to get out before they can find a place to park. So we feel really blessed that everything worked out fine in the end.

Q: What was your favorite part about the photographs and what ended up being your favorite photo?
We've always thought of the venue as being a bit narrow in width, but there was one shot taken from above, which showed how big the venue was, and that to us made the ceremony seem much more grand and majestic.

Q: What was the best moment of the night (funniest, most heart-warming, and most memorable)?
Funniest: How competitive the people were in the games.
Heart Warming: Most of the guests did finish the program. Thanks to Ms. Darlene and our coordinators as well as to our SDE editors (videographer and photographer) for keeping the program fun, engaging and on schedule.
Memorable: The compliments we received from the guests during and after the wedding.
Q: Besides the “getting married” part, what was the most vivid memory of your wedding day? (bride’s perspective)
Our entrance into the ballroom. It was a long walk. Everyone was smiling and cheering. It was surreal.

Q: Looking back, what’s one thing you’d change about your wedding (could be to do with planning, the actual day, etc.)
Nothing. As incredible as it sounds, it was absolutely perfect when viewed from retrospect. We had live-feed video and we watched the video days after the wedding and from what we saw, everything was on-cue.

Q: What part of the day do you want to do again and why?
Probably, our first dance. The dance we performed during the wedding was the shorter version of what we had prepared, since I had difficulty moving around. Our videographer captured portions of this “cutout” segment while we were practicing in the holding room and included them in the SDE.
