Having JHG photograph our wedding is a sure-fire way to get 100% winner photographs. Photos will stay with us forever, so we wanted the best photographer we could find. We are so happy that despite our wedding being in peak season and it was so near their own wedding, Joel and Ma-anne were so kind enough to accept us. When we got the “yes” from them, we literally shouted for joy. Seriously. Q: What was the most memorable part of your photography experience with Joel & Ma-anne? The solo portrait shots because he made us feel like we’re models. We never thought that we could pose like that in front of many people. They really have a way of making us feel comfortable during the photoshoot. Q: Any advice to offer new brides and grooms to-be? Have fun during the wedding preparations. There may come to a point that you will feel stressed but have trust in God and in yourselves that everything will turn out fine. We got ditched by two of our suppliers, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We were able to get much better suppliers. Q: Where did you get your dress? Edward Teng. He is usually the one whom Jordan’s mom calls whenever she needs a gown made. He knows what gown will make a woman look stunningly beautiful. Q: Who was the designer? Edward Teng Q: Who was the florist and stylist? Brian Ylagan, who is very accommodating despite all our requests Q: Who did your makeup? Joana Basilisco, who we all consider as the talented protege of Jackie Rivera Q: What was the weather like? It was perfect — no rain, and it was not so hot outside Q: What was the funniest thing that you remember happening? Our dance number — I find it so funny because Jordan has never danced in his entire life but he tried his best to give the guests something very special and unique of him, so we decided to have a choreographed dance number. But seriously, he was good. Q: What characteristics of the ceremony made your event most unique to you two as a couple? Since it is not allowed to deviate from the standard wedding ceremonies in San Sebastian, what made our ceremony unique is how our chosen Priest prepared a very fun, entertaining and educating homily tailored for us on a personal level. Q: What do you remember most about the Ceremony? The time that the priest pronounced us “husband and wife” felt like it was God talking to us to take care and love each other for the rest of our lives. Q: What was your favorite part about the photographs and what ended up being your favorite photo? Joel has the ability to capture the most beautiful in every thing he shoots. When the bride was walking down the aisle, both of us felt that it was so special because the photos not only showed the grandeur of the Church but it also symbolizes the happiness we felt as we come closer and closer to each other as the bride takes each step. Q:What made your reception personalized to your own unique vision and expectations? The lechon during the cocktail hour. Despite the fact that a lot of people tried to urge us into serving nuts, crackers or some other light snacks for the cocktail hour, we still pushed through with the lechon because we wanted to make sure that guests won’t feel hungry and bored while waiting for us. Q:Besides the “getting married” part, what was the most vivid memory of your wedding day? (bride’s perspective) I remember only eating Skyflakes and egg for brunch but I never felt dizzy during the entire Ceremony and prior to the reception despite the many pictorials we’ve done. The excitement and happiness I felt was enough to fill my tummy. Q:What regrets, (if any) do you have about the planning of your wedding and your decisions leading up to the day? We regret paying downpayments for a couple of suppliers (different from the ones who ditched us), and ended up not utilizing their services. Q:What part of the day do you want to do again and why? If we can go back to the morning of our wedding day, surely I will show to the coordinators that the clock souvenirs for the principal sponsors are personalized. The trouble it made even brought us to Tagaytay to swap clock souvenirs. LOL. Aside from that, we are pretty much happy on how everything transpired. Q: Where did the guys get their suits/tuxes? Jordan’s suit was made to measure by the one and only Rico Ignacio Q: Where did you get your rings? All rings (engagement ring + wedding rings) were ordered from NL Jewelry. We so love them because they follow the design up to tiniest detail. Q: Who was your shoe designer? I tried to have a custom-made shoes for myself, but after several revisions, the material is far from the agreed design. So I decided to just buy one from the mall. My fiancé back then was so kind enough to accompany me around several malls. I finally got the perfect pair from B Club. Q: Groom's Shoes:? We got it from Call It Spring. Anything looks good on my husband anyway. The Wedding Suppliers: Photography: Joel H. Garcia & Ma-anne Roque for JHG Joel H.
