We captured the wedding of Andrew and Vicky a few years back, and now that they have a little boy named Kurt who happens to be born on May 4th, which is also the day where Star Wars fans all over the world celebrates Star Wars Day as "May the Fourth be with you", they went with a Star Wars theme for his 1st Birthday Party.
The birthday event was held in The Viridian in Greenhills, it was perfect for their more civilized age birthday theme. Their themed decorations and treats inspired by both the light and dark forces really creates conflict between good and evil. Incorporating shades of red vs. blue and dark vs. light, as well as adding hints of evil characters such as Darth Vader and good characters like Yoda, Han Solo and more can further reinforce the contrast. Andrew and Vicky are avid Star Wars fans also so it was a perfect time to play along with the theme. I'm amazed how they suit up with the occasion wearing the rebellion outfits, jackets, boots, laser guns. It was so much fun to see them participate in their kid's party. As each of the young guests entered the venue, they were given costumes to wear and light sabers to add some out of this world kiddie party experience. There was also a Star Wars desert photo wall for the kids and guests so they can have selfie and group photos. Andrew and Vicky even hired an onsite T-Shirt printer for the little kids to have their personalised t-shirts as a give away. Vicky spent a lot of time doing DIY for this party and I think she did a very good job in making sure Kurt's 1st birthday was a memorable one. From the stage, giveaways, background music, cakes, sweets, walls and table decors, all had a little touch of the theme. But the highlight of the party is when C-3PO, Storm Trooper & Darth Vader entered the door to surprise the birthday boy and the kids to have a duel fight with Dark Lord Darth Vader. What a treat!
A Star Wars party could fill more volumes than a Jedi Temple could hold and I witnessed how a little imagination and research can easily take a celebration to another galaxy.
To Daddy Andrew and Mommy Vicky, great job and May the force be with you...Always..
