I want to share.

The  word pinatubo means "Made to grow" in Tagalog . Mt. Pinatubo is unknown to the world until its colossal eruption in 1991.

Ma-anne told me the info that some of her WWF World Wide Fund Officemates are going to have a Tour of Mount Pinatubo, it’s been a long time since Ma-anne and I had an outdoor activity together so we grab the opportunity to test our rusty bones and trekking spirits if its still there. = )

There are 2 types of jeeps that are available, we ride the open type jeep I thought it was a cool way to travel the lahar canyons but its not ha ha ha. I inhaled one kilo of lahar powder into my lungs. = )  No wonder our driver is look like a Ninja! The closed type is much better I think. = )

Our tour offers a first hand experience of the lahar canyons, it has formed just like those in the primitive ages. Spectacular lahar formations is all over the place giving the individual the idea how the earth was formed.

It was a one-hour 4x4 ride to the jump-off point and that alone was an experience!

What a bumpy ride, so it’s a challenge for me to shoot this travel, I bracketed my exposures so I don’t bother too much interms of nailing the exposures.

there were two routes to get to the Pinatubo area. The old route  and the Skyway which we are taking. The Skyway is a route that goes up on the sandy hills up to a near point at the foot of the volcano. While the old route had to trek through the canyons of sand and dirt.

Around 2 thirds on our way, we passed by a family of Aetas who are waiting for tourist to give them money.  At my first glance I’m not in the mood to shoot them, but I’m magnetized with their big shiny eyes so I get my camera to shoot a few portraits and wow I like the outcome of my hazy Aeta portraits you could see it in this Avp.

The panoramic views of the lahar river beds, grasslands, streams, canyons and mountains made this tour a unique experience.

Porac Traverse Trail -  Beautiful as a paradise, Tough as hell!

I never planned to shoot as much photographs for this travel because in the back of my head I’ve seen a lot of Mt. Pinatubo photographs already and it might be too passe´ to photograph the place but I was wrong.  For first timer like me, the scene is breath taking!

Thanks for viewing.
